The Bantam Division is for players aged 13 and 14 as of January 1st of the current year. At the Bantam level base paths are set at 80 feet, and pitchers throw from 54 feet. Lead offs and stealing are allowed. Games are 7 innings long. All home games are played at Bird Field in Gates Park. Bantam interlocks with surround associations for league games. Games and practices are held throughout the week.

The Bantam division provides the opportunity for players to play at the A, AA or AAA level. All players have the opportunity to try out for the AA and AAA teams which offer a more competitive level of play. Players not selected to either the AA or AAA team will be placed on one of the A teams which offer a more recreational level of play.

At all levels, teams travel to play other associations. Bantam A and AA levels play from April to June with the opportunity to play Summer Season in July. The Bantam AAA team is a Single Season team that plays from April to July. As well, teams may qualify to play in the Provincials.

At the A and AA levels, all players bat in rotation. At the AAA level, the 9-man system is used.

Players trying out for AA or AAA need to be aware of the time commitment that will be expected and that there will be additional fees and travel expenses incurred if they are selected. PCMBA may not field AA or AAA every season.

All Bantam players are invited to participate in Winter training as preparation for the upcoming season. We are coordinating these training sessions with Coquitlam Moody. Here are the upcoming dates and times:

• Sundays starting January 7th at 7:40pm to 9:10pm at the Bullpen
• Wednesdays starting January 11th at 8:00pm to 9:15pm at Pleasantside Elementary
• Thursdays starting January 12th at 8:00pm to 9:15pm at Pleasantside Elementary
