Breaking in a new glove???

Visit http://www.baseballgloves.com/breakingin/

Mike Gallego, 13 year major league infielder played for the Yankees, Athletics and Cardinals , recommends the following:

1. Run hot water over the glove for two minutes until leather and strings are thoroughly wet.

2.Tumble glove in the fluff cycle of your dryer for three minutes.Don't let the glove get completely dry especially the pocket.

3.Place the glove between your feet on the floor and pound the pocket with the barrel end of baseball bat for 20 minutes. Hit the rest of the glove but concentrate on the pocket.

4. Place two baseballs diagonally in the pocket. Fold the glove , thumb touches the second to last finger( not the pinkee).

5.Wrap the glove with a shoe string and hang it for at least two days with fingers pointing up.

6. Unwrap glove and rub all over with mink oil.  Play lots of catch. Your glove should be broken in after two weeks. Remember , play lots of catch.
