July 17-20 Burnaby Abercromby Cup: Schedule   Rules

April 6, 2008  The umpire gear will travel from team to team with the pitching machines.  Coaches, hold on to the umpire gear until notified by the coordinator. Only after all pitching machines are functional, and the season games are underway, will the umpire gear start moving around.  I will add the umpire gear to the pitching machine hand off schedule.

March 2008 - We will be implementing the "Young Guns" system this year where 1 of the 2 game days will be a practice, which will provide the coaches more time for instruction with their players. This is part of a new approach to Tadpole, T-Ball, and Blast Ball that focuses more on player instruction than ever before.  We are trying to have smaller teams this year (or at least, fewer kids in the field) to maximize their activity in the field and keep them engaged. For this, more coaches than usual are required. We are also thinking of two teams at the same practice field, to have "stations" and allow the coaches to collaborate and discuss coaching ideas, and see how each other coaches. We feel that this will encourage more people to coach in the long run, as we hope the coaches will feel comfortable that there is a support system in place to help them coach.

The season will start on Monday March 24 and will go every Monday and Wednesday (statutory holidays excepted) until mid-June.

The schedule, rules, and other data will be posted here prior to the season.
